First of all, we hope that you, your team and your family are safe from the devastating storm that hit the Houston Area. Our community was hit hard and we want you to know iTech is ready to assist with the Recovery Effort.
Business disaster recovery for AV
Statistics show that on average, over 40% of businesses that do not have a Disaster Recovery Plan go out of business after a major loss like a fire, a break-in, a storm, or sabotage. A Good Plan Increases Your Chances of Recovery.
However, for those businesses without a proper plan in place, it is crucial to act quickly to mitigate further losses.
Listed below are a few of the services that we are ready to offer with the goal to get Houston businesses, government agencies, and Houses of worship up and running as quickly as possible. If you have a specific need, please contact us below to see if we may be able to assist you.
Our technicians are standing by ready to service and/or repair your AV/IT equipment (traveling to most areas in Houston). Even when equipment is damaged, our skilled technicians are able to restore functionality to our customer’s systems on 95% of our visits.
If we are unable to resolve the issue on our first visit due to equipment malfunction, we are typically able to provide loaner equipment of similar specifications or get an advance replacement from our manufacturers.
While your system is being restored to 100%, we can take functional components from an existing system and design a temporary solution that provides its essential functionality.
In the meantime, we could provide assistance with an insurance claim, equipment repairs, or rental equipment to provide full functionality.
Whether relocating it within the same facility or to a new location, we can relocate any AV system to a more convenient location where we will ensure the system is fully functional and all components or peripherals are configured and calibrated to the new environment such as microphones and projectors.
Any items that cannot be relocated (i.e. cabling) will be replaced as necessary.
High humidity can cause condensation inside electronic equipment which can short circuit or start the oxidation of components. A simple solution is to unplug all power sources from electronic equipment and leave in a room with good ventilation for about 48 hours.
If time is of the essence, or it is impractical for your team to disconnect all equipment that may be stacked in a rack, we can expedite the process! We will remove all moisture from individual components and reconnect all equipment within a matter of hours, ensuring system is operational in the fastest time possible.
At the same time, we will make sure all equipment is operational and report any equipment that may have failed.
If the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey has left your team in a position where they need to support other teams remotely or supplement existing technology tools in order to not disrupt operations further, we can quickly assess the needs of your team and propose a solution that can be deployed quickly and with minimal training to your team.
Some examples of this may be;
- Video conferencing solutions to support teams remotely or allow remote users to communicate with the rest of the team
- Huddle rooms for simple ad hoc meetings which can be deployed in existing spaces or in public areas like break rooms or hallways
- Presentation systems to help review data with a team and make more effective decisions
Once equipment has been determined to be damaged and not salvageable, our team will take care of uninstalling and properly disposing of it, while maintaining working equipment or connections intact.
We can document all equipment information including serial #s, pictures, details of damage, etc… for accounting purposes or insurance claim purposes.
We can work with your team to determine their operational needs and suggest the technology that will best support their efforts whether that is communicating with teams remotely or analyzing data locally.
We can quickly deploy a professional video conferencing system using a cloud service as its backbone to allow your teams to work remotely.
We also have a variety of technologies that can make the collaboration of local teams easier.
